Last weekend I got to experience yet another first for this pregnancy.

My first baby shower.

No, not the first baby shower I’ve even been to (you can’t grow up in church and not have attended at least a handful of baby showers…), but MY baby shower:

Something I’d dreamed about for a few years now. Because, of course, a baby shower means a baby is on the way 🙂

And I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing shower. Thanks to some of the wonderful ladies from my home group, my church, and my family I had a shower that was more blessed than I ever could have imagined.

The decorations and food were so adorable and delicious:

And this baby was quite literally showered with some absolutely beautiful things:

But if I’m being honest, it was the non-tangible things that I enjoyed (and will value for a long time) above all.

It was the love shown to myself, Keith, and the mini buy a group of women willingly sacrificing a few hours on their Saturday to celebrate a new life.

It was the thoughtfulness behind each gift that made them that much more special.

It was the caring, gracious, and humbly given advice and tips that I know Keith and I will treasure, value, and I’m sure use for many years to come.

It was the feeling of being surrounded by people who love Keith and I (and the mini), and who truly want to come along side us and be a help and encouragement to us as we raise this baby (and any other babies that follow 😉 ).

It was knowing that these people who love us make up an amazing, Gospel centered church that Keith and I are so blessed to be a part of, and to have the opportunity to learn from, and lean on, as this new chapter in our life begins.

And it was getting to enjoy how excited the soon-to-be grandmothers are:

(I mean, they practically glow in the dark…)

And of course…I’d be lying if I didn’t say that the chocolate cake was a major plus too:

But seriously, I am thankful. And humbled. And excited. I mean come on, how cute is this?
